Biography

As the Executive Administrative Manager, Gloria oversees event programming and coordination for Labor Studies and the IRLE. She ensures that the department runs smoothly with careful oversight of the administrative needs, budget planning, and on-site execution of events. Gloria has six years of administrative experience at UCLA, with prior experience at the Registrar’s Office in Veterans Affairs and student record services.

Gloria graduated from UCLA in 2019 with a double major in Gender and Labor Studies. Before becoming a Bruin, Gloria attended Pierce Community College. She was able to transfer to UCLA with the mentorship of the Center for Community College Partnerships. Once a student at UCLA, she herself became a mentor and believes in the strength of building a pathway for community college students.

In addition to having an AA and BA, Gloria has a degree in culinary arts from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School. She specializes in French and Salvadorian cooking techniques. She believes that food tears down walls and can ultimately be the bridge in building a community centered around understanding and empathy.
